About this speaker
It’s my pleasure to introduce Gregg Ward, the Founder & Executive Director of the Center for Respectful Leadership.
Gregg tells me that he’s lived four different lives.
In his first life he was a professional actor, writer, director and producer in New York City and in the UK. He lived for five years in Edinburgh – where he is very proud to say that his play, Boardroom Shuffle won the prestigious Fringe First Award during the 1990 festival.
In his second life, Gregg worked as a specialist trainer for the New York City Police Department using professional theater as a training tool on managing emotionally disturbed persons in public spaces. The program was considered groundbreaking at the time and garnered major interest from national media.
In his third life, also while living in Scotland, Gregg served as a theatre critic and freelance correspondent for Scotland On Sunday, BBC-Radio Scotland, The List, The Independent, The Glasgow Herald, and The Times. He’s told me that as a journalist he is most proud of having covered the Fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.
Gregg’s latest life is what he’s doing now and for the past 25 years: serving as a global speaker, consultant, facilitator and executive coach on respect, leadership, emotional intelligence, psychological safety, and cultural transformation.
Gregg is also the author of the award-winning, best-selling business fable The Respectful Leader which was published by John Wiley & Sons in 2016. He’s a Master Certified Executive Coach, a Board Certified Coach, and an Adjunct Executive Coach with the Center for Creative Leadership.
Now, one fun fact about Gregg… in his spare time, he’s a little league baseball umpire. And he’s found – maybe you’ve found this too - that the children on the field usually behave like respectful little adults and the parents and family in the stands sometimes behave like big, disrespectful children.
